Cotton wool coat
I have a three-year-old neutered Golden Retriever.
Even though he is fed a good diet, his coat is like cotton wool!
I wondered if anyone could suggest anything to make it more silky and shiny - but not too high in calories as that is an issue also!
I have had a lot of experience of this and very similar problems. I have found our Burns foods can be helpful. The aim is to create a healthy system free of toxic waste matter and this will be reflected in his coat condition. Burns adult foods are low in fat and protein and free of chemicals , all of which help to avoid the build-up of toxins in the system. In addition you should feed as sparingly as possible. I would suggest a top quality food such as Eden which is high in nutrients and contains no nasty additives, it is high in protein and fats/oils but low in carbohydrates which are oftem the cause of weight gain. Since grains contain limited nutrients it is necessary for larger amounts of food to be consumed in order to get all the required nutrition. that then means too much carbohydrate is consumed and that is then converted to body fat.
